My favorite of the Jaquet-Droz dolls is an accomplished performer of a small pipe organ.
During Research trips to Europe, to study the dolls, I became fond of t he Fairground’s organs, that were decorated with carved animated dolls.
In the year Two Thousand and one, I was able to purchase part of the estate of a well known restoration artist.
From this material, I will be able to create three Wurlitzer band organs.
The first organ, A Caliola is now playing.
Detailed plans and parts are being restored and constructed for the Wurlitzer 146 and the Wurlitzer 165 models.
